Program

Evidence

SpeechATTAX is a product of the world’s largest randomised controlled trial in speech therapy for progressive ataxia, involving 160 participants across four countries: Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and France.

In this multinational clinical trial, participants completing the four-week SpeechATTAX intervention demonstrated statistically significant improvements in speech intelligibility (p = 0.0009) – the primary outcome measuring how well a speaker can be understood in spontaneous speech. Treatment effects were also observed across multiple secondary endpoints, including speech naturalness, vocal control, articulatory precision, and patient-reported communication outcomes.

Objective acoustic analysis further confirmed treatment effects, including reduced vocal instability and improved control of pitch and loudness. These findings indicate measurable improvements in underlying speech motor control.

The trial builds on earlier controlled research demonstrating that biofeedback-driven speech therapy significantly improves dysarthria in genetic ataxias. 75% of participants showed measurable improvements in intelligibility following treatment.

Together, these studies provide robust clinical evidence that structured, biofeedback-driven speech therapy can improve communication in progressive cerebellar conditions. Findings establish SpeechATTAX as one of the first evidence-based digital therapeutics for dysarthria in progressive conditions.

Our Story

Silhouettes of people gathered outdoors during sunset, with the sky transitioning from blue to darker shades.

Communication is at the heart of the human experience. It connects us with others, and shapes how we move through the world.

SpeechATTAX was created to support those facing progressive conditions – individuals who are often left without specialised, consistent therapy as their needs evolve. Our focus is simple: delivering intensive, evidence-based care directly into the home, and supporting proactivity and accessibility.

Because every voice deserves to be heard clearly.
